The Antripodean Ensemble is an ever-changing group of some of Australia’s finest improvising musicians, whose aim is to explore improvised music from every angle and in every form. They seek to create situations that extend the comfort zones of each musician in order for them to explore new possibilities. Each configuration creates difference, sparks new dialogue and seeks out the collective spirit. The result is a unique music, unrepeatable, contingent and “brilliantly alive”
Up from his remote Tasmanian Island retreat, Scott Tinkler will be joined by fellow musical explorers Scott McConnachie, Ren Walters, and Jenny Barnes in a night of spontaneity, virtuosity, and proto-anarchistic interplay. Questions will be asked, responses will lead to more questions, creative tensions may or may not be resolved.
